The Doctor’s Companion Ep. 183 – Eyes Wide Open

doctorscompanionrssThe Matt Smith era has ended but the show must go on as Scott and guest host Nick Jimenez discuss the David Tennant episode “Blink”. The Doctor needs the help of a young woman named Sally Sparrow to save the TARDIS from the nefarious Weeping Angels and return it to him in 1969. Why is there a video of the Doctor and Martha featured as an easter egg on random DVDs? Can Sally figure out the “timey wimey” mystery before it’s too late? Do we think this a good episode to start with for people who are new to Doctor Who? Find out in the latest edition of The Doctor’s Companion! And remember, BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!

Next: Peter Davison in “Terminus”!!

  1. It’s was sad to hear Matt go. His blog was one of the first sites where I learned about the Doctor. Great podcast personality and writer.Glad he is still on the other podcasts.

    • Thanks, Sam. I’m delighted that it’s not the end of my podcast experience and I’m so happy that you learned about The Doctor through the blog. That makes my day.

  2. It’s hard to imagine Matt not being on the show anymore. Such a passionate, articulate Whomo. A ton of fun to listen to. But that’s life, eh? He left a poop-ton of old episodes, though, so there’s that.

I’m for sure sticking around for the future adventures of the Doctor’s Companion, and I’m excited to see how the guest hosts work out! I guess you could say the show is kinda sorta like regenerating. Except not at all similar because its more like one host died and he’s simply being replaced. But you get the point.

Doctor’s Companion is dead. Long live Doctor’s Companion!

    • Thanks, Doc. It was a very difficult decision to make, especially given so many stories show left uncovered and undiscussed. About half of them, really. And the Capaldi episodes. And more. But I felt it was the best decision for me and the quality of the show.

Thanks for the support. Really. =)

      • Maybe, just maybe, you can guest host for an episode or two when the Capaldi episodes start…
