  1. I’m surprised you guys didn’t go for the “play that funky music, white boy” joke with the title. 😀

That being said, I’m going to chime in about a future minute.

Remember the part where the Ginger just sort of shows up and cuts in in the worst way, and then George starts to walk away? That is the absolutely *dumbest* way to have one last bit of tension of “will Marty succeed?” in the entire movie. Everything else in the movie creates tension in a way that is logical and makes sense, but Ginger showing up is like, “Did you really need to include that at all?”

Because George just punched out *Biff Tannen*. I think he’s kind of a shoe-in for a kiss with Lorraine at this point. If the story had had George nervous about kissing her, and not wanting to go too quickly, then that would’ve created better tension than yet *another* external force trying to interrupt George and Lorraine getting together.

If ever there was a misstep in this movie, that’s really gotta be it.

  2. I like the writer Robert A. Heinlein’s way out of the trap of time tvrael paradoxes: every time you change history, you in fact enter an alternate dimension. The old history still exists in the previous dimension, so you in fact changed nothing, but instead created an alternate timeline running in parallel.
